Mark Fox

With an outstanding background in opera and vocal performance, Mark Fox discovered early in his career his enthusiasm for teaching. As he began offering singing lessons parallel to performing, it became apparent over time that his passion as a teacher lay in exploring how the voice can be utilised as a means for personal transformation and empowerment. He had an evolving realisation that a person’s sense of personal identity is expressed and revealed in their vocal sound.

Carrying such passion, he founded ”True Voice®” – an opening process for the voice – in 1996. Since then, he has been internationally under way, offering seminars, vocal retreats, training and individual sessions for people interested in experiencing a more authentic vocal expression and way of being.

Bob Smeets

Digital literacy and ethics, detecting and handling digital threats, navigating in an ever-changing job market – skills that probably meant very little in the last century have become crucial in today’s times. At TEDxRWTHAachen 2022, speaker Bob Smeets will explore ‘21st century skills that should be taught in high schools’ and let us know his answers to the standing issues.

Bob had studied in various schools across Europe, each with their own education system. In his studies, he had the opportunity to teach at two high schools in the Netherlands and Sweden. Additionally to his career in IT, he works for the BES Project, which focuses on raising the awareness of children about the value of money. Emilie Uttrup

Emilie Uttrup is a competitive surfer, keynote speaker and holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing. Emilie will be sharing with us her inspiring story about fear and courage at TEDxRWTHAachen 2022.

Growing up in Denmark, Emilie competed in show-jumping with horses and at the age of 19 she moved to China to work professionally in the equestrian industry. A tragic accident in China in 2009 turned Emilie’s life upside down and forced her to confront everything she had ever known. Fast forward eleven years later, Emilie has since lived in three different countries, represented her country in both the European and the World Surfing Championships, and most importantly, she has opened up about her struggles throughout.

“Lean into your fears, and start living your dreams”—join Emilie on her journey in finding the courage to follow her new goals and dreams.
